Dear sweet Banks,
You are 16 months old today, and you are SO MUCH FUN! Really, you are the best. You make me laugh all day long! The things you say and do, the expressions you make, the toys you choose to play with and the way you still curl up into a ball with your rear end in the air at night when you sleep all warm my heart.
You are 16 months old today, and you are SO MUCH FUN! Really, you are the best. You make me laugh all day long! The things you say and do, the expressions you make, the toys you choose to play with and the way you still curl up into a ball with your rear end in the air at night when you sleep all warm my heart.
So, what are you doing at 16 months?
- You are kissing everything! This morning when I picked you up you touched my face and said "mama," and then kissed me on the lips. Tonight, you kissed me and Dada several times before saying "Nigh Nigh" and then when I handed you your dog, you kissed it too. You kiss all the girls at school, and your teachers too.
- Today you learned how to say "Happy!" Ms. Alecia said you would smile at yourself in the mirror, and then say "Happy!" over and over again.
- You are a sponge. You see your Dada get on his bike, and you start trying to climb up on it too. You see me pick you a strawberry from the plant, and now you know where to go to get your "Bobo's" (berries). Tonight, Jonathan taught you to "roar" like a Tiger, and "cry" like a Gamecock. We'll post video of that soon, because it is REALLY funny to see you fake cry like a Gamecock!
- You love to do "fast feet!" You go back and forth as fast as you can on those sweet little feet! And then you laugh and laugh!
- You like to try and jump, but your feet don't leave the ground.
- You recognize all of your family members, even though you don't see them daily.
- You love the water at the lake or the pool! We can't keep you away from it! Life jackets... not a fan.
- "Side" is still your favorite place to be!
- You finally are old enough to have "friends!" You love Hayley, Marley and Presley from school and can say their names, and you love Parker, Grace, Whit, Tucker and Kennedy. And, we caught you kissing Avery yesterday on the playground!
- You say "WHOA!" when you are really excited about something! It's so funny. Like today, you saw your Dada's bike (and apparently thought it was a prize for you) and yelled "WHOA!" before trying to climb up on it. It's very "Joey" of you. (Prize for anyone who can recall that little bit of tv trivia! My money is on Brian M. if he reads this blog.)
- You've started calling us both Mama. Now, you are well aware that Dada is, in fact, "dada" when asked directly. But you like to call him "Mama."
- During bath time, you help wash yourself. Really, you do a terrible job. But, you try. You hold your little hand out for soap and rub it on about 1/8 of your tummy before declaring yourself clean enough to be "all done" with the bath! Guess dirty boy habits start young!
Your mommy and daddy love you more with every day that passes. We are so blessed to be your parents.

Aww. I just realized that Henry and Banks are exactly 1 month apart. Henry is 15 mo today! His favorite place is side too! One day we will have to get these two boys together!
