Banks-isms

Banks falls down at the park. I ask him "Did you break anything?" Banks says, "my heart."

*********

Mommy: Banks! Did you hear that Baby Cousin is going to be a boy?!
Banks: No. He is not.
Mommy: Yes, Baby Cousin is a boy!
Banks: No. He is not a boy.
Mommy: Why isn't baby cousin a boy?
Banks: Because I'm a boy. And Daddy's a boy. And Woof-woof is a boy and Sammy is a boy and Mickey is a boy and Baby Cousin is NOT A BOY!

*********

At the end of the day, we were getting into a very hot car. Banks says "Mommy! The hot is getting me! I need the wind!"

*********

Driving home from school, I was talking on the phone with my mom and Banks kept saying over and over "Mommy! I need ya!" and I clearly wasn't listening to him. Finally, I hear, "SARAH SMITH! I NEED YOU!"

Mother's Day

Banks was so sweet this Mother's Day, and Jonathan was so sweet about teaching Banks that the day was a special one to love on Mommy. Jonathan took Banks shopping for a present, and Banks marched up to a brightly colored beaded necklace and said "How about that one!"

Bless his sweet little heart - he came right home and wanted to give it to me immediately! Not a very good secret keeper! He gave it to me yelling "I got you a necklace! Put it on, Mommy! It's a rock necklace!" Well, of course that would be why Banks was drawn to the necklace! What little boy could resist a necklace made of rocks!

It hurts!!

Banks throws a horrid tantrum tonight. Truly horrid. The likes of which we haven't seen in months if not a full year. I let him scream it out a few minutes and then I go and pick him up and begin to rock him.

Mommy: Banks, are you OK?
Banks: IT HURTS!!
Mommy: Where does it hurt?
Banks: On my feelings.

Life as we know it

So, life as we know it just keeps plugging along. I realize regularly how very blessed we are! Jobs we love, great family, and a toddler who keeps us laughing! Here's a few recent stories...

As you know, Banks is potty training, and doing VERY well! He's only had a few accidents. We waited until he was ready, not forcing anything, and he was definitely ready. This has been so easy!

Well, the other night Banks was having a rather long (and gaseous) sit on the potty. Once he started to go, he exclaimed "That surprised my hiney!" Oh, I love the mind of a toddler! He then proceeded to tell me it was "Musgusting" which I'm pretty sure means it was "disgusting!"

*******

Banks has begun giving personalities to everything around him. The other morning, his "piggies" were talking to me! He wiggled them at me, and in a pretend voice "his piggies" informed me that they were cold and they needed socks.

******

We've been working on making sure Banks is a "big helper." Well, he tells me the other day that "You need to be a big helper, Mommy. You need to push me on my car!"

*******

I promise I'll get around to posting more pictures soon. My camera is off for repairs **SIGH** and won't be back for another 2 weeks!
