Wow... this week has been crazy... well, the past two weeks have been crazy! Since bringing Eli home, here's a glimpse of our lives...
Bring Eli home
Last minute Christmas preparations
Fear Eli has Jaundice - head to the pediatrician
Not enough jaundice to worry, but we are down to 7 pounds 2 ounces
Eli decides that he doesn't sleep from 2 to 5 am
Host Christmas at our house
Clean up after Christmas (wow, what a mess! totally worth it though!)
Constant care and feeding of a newborn
Callie develops tumor on her eye and needs it removed
Cotton also gets sick and needs overnight care
Eli continues to refuse sleep from 2 to 5 am
Constant care, play and feeding of Banks
Eli's umbilical cord falls off and we fear infection
Doctor says come in right away
Eli has umbilical cord granuloma - very common problem
Doctor treats belly button - all better now
Good news is Eli is gaining lots of weight - little piggy
Newborn pictures last 5 hours (but the pics will be amazing!)
Callie goes to vet; tumor removed; comes home and busts a stitch
Blood everywhere - but all better now
Constant care and feeding of a newborn
Eli still refuses to sleep from 2 to 5 am
I hope I don't make Eli out to be a difficult baby. Truth is, he's a dream baby! For 21 out of 24 hours a day, he is PERFECT! And even from 2 to 5 am, he's not fussy. He just won't sleep unless we're holding him. I really couldn't ask for a better baby!
So, we're exhausted! But, we're so happy to have 2 healthy little boys!

Makes me tired just reading all that! I hope Eli sleeps his way into 2011 and that y'all have a wonderful New Year.
Sarah, This is Lauren, Jonathan's friend from high school. Eli is precious - congrats! I just wanted to share that we had the same problem with our daughter, Audrey, in the beginning. We ended up putting her in the swing, as far back as it would go, with one of those carseat head snuggie things in the seat for her head. It was the only way we could get her to sleep from 2-5.
Also, we loved the Miracle swaddle blanket - it was the only one that worked for her. You can find it online or some specialty baby stores.
Hope that helps and that things calm down soon!!
