On December 14, a small school in Connecticut suffered an unfathomable tragedy. 20 students and 6 teachers were shot... young children. First grade. Just older than sweet Banks. All I could think as I watched it unfold was that I saw this when I was in school too - Columbine.
I'll forgo the debates on gun control, school security measures, and mental health. Those debates will go on for months, years. I just want to focus on the next day... December 15... a day when I woke up with two happy, healthy children while 20 families woke up without theirs. All morning, Jonathan and I just did whatever these sweet babies wanted. We snuggled and played and colored pictures. Their lives are so precious. And they grow so fast....
